The Alexander Williams Davie Charitable Trust

The Davie Trust was establised after the death of Mr. Alexander Williams Davie in 1992 to provide financial help with the education of young people in the parish of Lumphanan and in April 2000 was extended by the Court of Session in Edinburgh to include the parishes of Torphins and Kincardine O' Neil.

Housholds with Income below £40,000 / year may receive grants.

Children and young people under the age of 25 from the parishes of Lumphanan, Torphins and Kincardine O' Neil can apply for educational funding under the following categories:
  1. The applicant must have been born in the parish of Lumphanan or his/her parents were resident in Lumphanan at the time of birth.
  2. The applicant has lived in the parish of Lumphanan for five years prior to making application and continues to live there.
  3. The applicant was born in either Torphins or Kincardine O' Neil or the applicant's parents were resident within Torphins or Kincardine O'Neil at the time of the applicant's birth and has lived within either of those parishes for five years prior to making the application and continues to live there.
Applications are means-tested and the awards are made annually. Please note that no retrospective payments will be considered by the Trustees
