Elaine Brown, 57, died 15th February 2007 at her home in Leyland, near Preston, Lancashire after a short illness. Her funeral service will be held this Friday at St Georges Church, New Road, Chorley, Preston followed by internment at Hill Road Cemetery, Preston.

Mrs. Brown was born on 12th July, 1950 in Glasgow, Scotland to Mary and Graham Smith. She gained a first class law degree from Manchester University in 1970 and had a successful career as a practice lawyer specialising in family law. She married David Brown on December 8th 1972. They raised 3 daughters and went on to foster more than 25 children. Mrs Brown moved to Leyland in 1980 and was heavily involved in the local community working with disadvantaged children and was also a member of the local Rotary. In her spare time she enjoyed watercolour painting.

Her family paid this tribute to her, ‘Elaine was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, she opened her heart and her home to many children over the years and she will be sorely missed.’

She is survived by her husband and 3 daughters, Marie, Kim and Samantha.

SACKVILLE (Paul) - of Manchester. Passed away suddenly at home on 6th June 2006 aged 44 years. Loving Husband of June, much loved father of Dean and Louise.
